Yingyang

The Yin Yang, is the Universal accepted symbol of the Martial Arts.
It represents the "TAO" which is the "Universal knowledge/life force".
It symbolically contains all the relationships of our universe.

The Yin is the black and the Yang is the white.  As you can see from a quick look
at the symbol, there is some Yin in anything Yang, and there is Yang in anything Yin.
The following characteristics show some of the Yin/Yang relationships:

Yin Yang
Dark      Light
Circular Linear
Soft Hard
Female Male
Chinese Fighting Techniques Japanese Fighting Techniques

Yin and Yang energy meridians (channels) run throughout our body.   Acupuncture
and Accupressure are based on the Yin/Yang theory.  As martial Artists we must
always strive to keep Balance (Ying/Yang) in our fighting techniques & Strategies,
in our physical/mental exercises as well as in our Daily life.  For the Yang to exist
there must be Yin, and for the Yin to exist there must be Yang.

One way to acquire more balance in your Martial Arts is to complement your
moves, everytime you learn a technique in which you use "Deadly Physical Force";
search out and learn another in which you "Restrain" your adversary with no harm.
On a personal level everytime you acquire something "New"; let go of something
"Old" which you rarely use (If it is within your financial means donate it to charity).
